Welch Hall Housing Assignment Information

Priority for housing will be based on the number of points earned by an individual or group (with a 10 point maximum).

Each individual applicant will receive a point value as determined from the point system outlined above. When applying for a double or quad, each group of students will receive a point value which represents the average of the points given to all individuals in the group.

Single rooms in Welch Hall are arranged in a suite consisting of three individual bedrooms and a common bathroom. Single rooms will be awarded individually (priority is given to individuals with the highest number of points earned). Single room applicants may choose to list the names of preferred suitemates on the application. If single room applicants do specify the names of preferred suitemates, we will attempt to accommodate suitemate preferences in accordance with the point system outlined above. Therefore, it is important that each individual in the group have a high overall score in order to be assigned as suitemates in single rooms.

In regards to a double or quad room assignment, you must be able to fill that double or quad room in order to receive priority for housing.

There are a limited number of singles and doubles available for the 2008-2009 academic year.

We encourage potential roommates to talk with each other about the point system and the overall strength of each application. It will be important for each group to be strong as a whole in order to receive priority for housing.
